Air Curtains
Eurovent is the European Committee for manufacturers of HVAC and representatives of major European national associations in the industry of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and cooling.
Eurovent works with developing the HVAC market in Europe by organizing initiatives specific for the industry for a dialogue with the legislature and other stakeholders such as consultants, clients and users. Among other things Eurovent works with programmes for air handling units to provide a common platform for evaluating products. This allows consultants, specifiers and users to be confident that the products will operate in line with the specified data on performance. Eurovent Association represents over a thousand companies with 150.000 employees in 13 countries.
Now, an entirely new group started up focusing air curtains. A first meeting was held with participants from 10 different companies in the air curtain industry from six different countries in Europe. The aim is to develop new guidelines to make it possible for customers to compare products on equal terms. In this way it will be easier to choose products with the highest energy efficiency and providing the best indoor climate in the entrance.
Frico is the initiator and holds the chair of the group. "Europe lacks a widely accepted modeling methodology regarding buildings infiltration and we hope that by working together within the industry to both help the customer to choose right while informing on more platforms of the possibilities of saving energy with air curtains. A lot is to be done and the result of the work will be noticeable first in a year or so ", says Ola Wallander Product Area Director Frico.
